With glaciers receding it is certainly worth seeing them while you can. The second glacier of our trip (other was Tasman) was the short walk of around 3Km round trip from the car park walking through a well marked track of moraine along the river melt. Allow an hour and a half for the round trip.
It is located in the Westland Tai Poutini National Park .
