We travelled to Bergen from Aberdeen in Scotland.
Woke just before 5 am to get ready for our bus to Aberdeen airport which left on schedule at 6.00 am .
Bit of a wait to check luggage then had toast and jam for breakfast before boarding and leaving in a Wideroe Dash 8 (propellors) leaving 20 minutes late for a one hour 5 minutes flight to Bergen.
The flight was uneventful over a beautiful sunny day a d dead flat north sea.

The coastline of Bergen is very striking with dozens of rocky islands around the city.
Quick to access our bags and then the customs officer queried our reason for visiting + the most interest we have ever received.
We caught the tram to the city and then walked about 10 minutes to the Vander Apartments.Managed to get an early check in by calling a help desk. There are no staff here.
There was a free laundry in the base of the building and we did two loads that afternoon.
Went to a nearby mini supermarket and bought ham, cheese , tomato, bread and butter for toasted sandwiches for dinner tonight – our first non bought meal for the trip.
After dinner we went for a walk along the harbour and saw the pretty typical buildings associated in the media with Bergen.

We slept in on our first morning in Bergen before getting up and making our own breakfast – toasted ham and cheese sandwiches.
After that we headed out to the supermarket to get some more food for dinner that evening.
For lunch we went to a nearby bakery and then headed off to the airport to meet our daughter at the airport. She was going to travel with us for three weeks to Hamburg.
She arrived on time and we made it back to the hotel by around 6.30 pm.
Spaghetti bolognaise for dinner and made some train bookings before hitting the sack at 10:30.
On day 30 of the trip we we woke from a good sleep after 8 am and had toast and coffee for breakfast with the luxury of peanut butter and jam, acquired yesterday.
We then walked around to the historical part of the town before boarding a Fjord cruise departing at 11.00 am. We saw a floating bridge, salmon farms, black Viking church – the scenary is stunning and the half ady Bergen Fjord cruise was well worth it.

Arriving back at the dock 3.5 hours later we headed for lunch at Macdonalds. We then headed straight for the funicular up Mount Floyen.
We were surprised to see some goats living on the mountain as vegetation management. They had nice houses to protect them from the winters and were managed with geolocation collars.
Back down the mountain we wandered around the shops for a while.
Bergen is a picture post card town with stunning backdrops and the air is very clean. It appears to be a very happy community and will be a place we will always remember.
