Trondheim, Norway

Trondheim was the starting point for our short Norwegian cruise to Tromso.

We flew into Trondheim from Bergen on a SAS Bombardier on a quick flight – under one hour.

Checked into our very basic room at Comfort Hotel then went for a wander around the city centre before grabbing an early dinner of Mexican then to the hotel for the night.

Breakfast in the hotel today was a step up from recent stays.

First priority the next morning was a walk to the docks to scope out where our Havila boat would depart from tomorrow.

Walking to pier one we saw the Hurtigruten equivalent waiting to move on but no signage anywhere to help us where Havila might live.

From here we headed back towards the city and visited the cathedral before crossing the old bridge.

Lunch was Burger King.

When we headed back to the hotel the lady at reception had not heard of Havila and did her best to help us with a Google search.

Fingers crossed tomorrow we will see our boat at Pier 1 – the same plave that Hurtigruten docks.

After a break we headed back out and I purchased a pair of walking boots to make life a bit easier on the cobblestones. I had not considered the impact of cobblestones on my shoe requirements and was really suffering.

There was an ECCO shoe shop in the main street and I bought a boot style which gave me instant relief.

Trondheim is stunning.
